Drone VTOL QUKAI MEGA FUSION® 3.5 - Qu-Kai. [RISCON TOKYO 2026]
Qu-Kai. introduced the VTOL "QUKAI MEGA FUSION® 3.5," with a wingspan of 3.5 meters, at RISCON TOKYO 2026. Headquartered in Machida, Tokyo, with an R&D base in Yamanashi and a site in Chiba, the company positions itself as a manufacturer focused on fixed-wing VTOL UAVs made in Japan, continuously developing both hardware and system software.
The aircraft on display stands out for being able to fly for 100 minutes in electric mode or 5 hours on gasoline, while cruising at between 80 km/h and 100 km/h. The company presented it as equipment intended for long-distance, long-duration operations, such as gathering information in wide areas, searching at event venues, and surveying topographic changes around volcanoes after eruptions, when access to the site becomes difficult.
The company said it aims for operations that previously took about a week to be completed in roughly 30 minutes, and indicated that it also intends to meet long-distance logistics needs in the future. In doing so, it underscores its stance of advancing the social implementation of high-performance drones, with a focus on VTOL aircraft that are still relatively few in Japan and are being developed with an emphasis on domestic production.
